canonical.disease and q_diseases expose the reviewed product disease taxonomy, not the set of diseases that source artifacts happened to mention. Source-derived disease mentions remain evidence: they resolve to known curated diseases when possible and create review candidates when they do not.
Considered Options
- Let exact NCIt matches from source mentions automatically populate
canonical.disease/q_diseases. - Import legacy Data Gov disease rows directly as canonical source truth.
- Keep source mentions as evidence and make curated taxonomy decisions own the published disease universe.
Consequences
Approval, trial, publication, SOC, and news mentions can prove that a source talks about a disease, but they cannot define the disease universe by themselves. Legacy Data Gov informed the first reviewed release and may still support explicit reconciliation; ADR-0010 defines the independent, versioned runtime source.
